In this role, you take end-to-end responsibility for warehouse and logistics operations at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site. You ensure compliant, efficient and future-ready logistics processes while preparing the organization and infrastructure for regulatory approvals and growth projects. Acting as a key interface between operations, projects and stakeholders, you combine hands-on leadership with strategic oversight. The position requires strong GMP expertise, operational ownership and on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Overall responsibility for warehouse and logistics operations at site, including third-party logistics providers
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and readiness for Swiss Medic licensing of logistics processes, systems, equipment and facilities
  • Lead, develop and coach a team of logistics experts and operators, including qualification, recruitment and performance management
  • Own material flow and inventory management across inbound, internal and outbound logistics, including cold chain activities
  • Oversee warehousing activities such as goods receipt, storage, handling, issuing, booking and material scrapping
  • Drive continuous improvement of logistics and warehouse processes with focus on efficiency, compliance and cost effectiveness
  • Act as business lead for the local SAP EWM implementation and represent logistics in related IT projects
  • Serve as primary logistics representative during regulatory inspections, customer audits and site visits
  • Actively contribute to investment and growth projects from an operational and maintenance perspective
  • Lead operational handover of new or modified warehouse areas after qualification and ensure audit readiness
  • Prepare and maintain risk analyses, SOPs and training concepts in line with GMP and SHE requirements
  • Ensure close collaboration and alignment with management, project teams and supply chain stakeholders

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in GxP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environments

  • Proven leadership experience managing small operational teams

  • Strong background in warehouse, logistics and material management operations

  • Solid understanding of GMP requirements and regulatory inspections

  • Hands-on experience with SAP, ideally including EWM or warehouse-related modules

  • Fluency in English and German
