In this role, you will be instrumental in managing costs and overseeing financial reporting for capital projects across global facilities. You will collaborate closely with various project teams and stakeholders, ensuring that all cost management processes align with project requirements. Your expertise will guide the transition from project estimates to controlled budgets, while also supporting project leadership in resource management and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project cost estimates and transition from estimates to control budgets
  • Identify and establish project interfaces and protocols for administration and control
  • Deliver accurate and timely cost reports to project leadership and stakeholders to meet corporate deadlines
  • Ensure that engineering partners and contractors adhere to project control requirements and methodologies
  • Implement project-level processes that support cost management needs
  • Maintain comprehensive cost reporting, including budgets, commitments, and assessments of work done
  • Support project leadership in managing resources and forecasting potential overruns or savings
  • Provide accurate estimates and reports of estimated at completion (EAC)
  • Assist in change, risk, and opportunity management regarding cost impact calculations
  • Control the management of contingency funds according to guidelines
  • Support project closeout activities, including asset activation and commercial closure
  • Offer guidance and support to other cost engineers as needed

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in English, with Business German being a plus (minimum B2 level)
  • Over 10 years of experience as a Cost Manager for large pharmaceutical projects; experience as a client representative in pharmaceutical companies is preferred
  • Ability to analyze cost data effectively and communicate findings to senior management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with interpersonal and influencing abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with SAP, SAP Ariba, and Oracle Primavera Unifier is advantageous
  • Experience in a global work environment
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical projects involving Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning contracts
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of conducting analysis on complex datasets and making informed decisions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to adapt to changing priorities and demands
  • Capable of prioritizing and executing tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
